New, Emerging, and Evolving Careers Workshop Information

Preparing students for a global world and economy was the featured topic of a Tech Prep workshop held April 13 in Nolanville. Sponsored by Central Texas Tech Prep Consortium and hosted by Region 12 Education Service Center, the workshop attracted about 30 educators from the Central Texas region.

Presenters included: Wanda Williams from Workforce Solutions of Central Texas; Dr. Dana Watson, and Mark Winans from Central Texas College; Christine Holecek from ESC Region 12; Dr. Daniel Spencer from Temple College/Texas Bioscience Institute; Anita Steele from Texas State Technical College; Sarina Swindell from Texas A&M Central Texas; Don Owens from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor; and Sherry Hollinger from the Consortium.

Although some of you will be teaching or doing administrative work this summer, many of you are beginning time away from the academic world. We appreciate your participation and support with Tech Prep activities this past year and look forward to working with you during the coming year. The Tech Prep office will remain open during the summer, Monday through Thursday, so please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. (Outreach Coordinator Misty Harrell will be out of the office until late August caring for her newborn twins, Luke and Brinley!)
