CATEMA (Career and Technology Education Management Application)
The CATEMA system is now ready for school districts to begin entering classes and students for the 2008 – 2009 school year. School districts that have not participated in CATEMA in the past but have a local articulation agreement with Central Texas College or Temple College, or have a teacher that is eligible to teach Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) courses, and would like to participate in CATEMA, can contact Misty Harrell at 254.298.8483 or mharrell@templejc.edu.
CATEMA is a web-based application designed to identify Career & Technology students who may have Tech Prep articulated credit in escrow. It is important because it helps identify students with articulated credit once they register for classes in college. Because the credit may be in escrow requiring the student to complete coursework with the college before the credit is articulated, many students often forget they have the credit and may end up repeating the course(s) they will get articulated. CATEMA helps to identify these students to college Advisors who will make sure they are advised appropriately. School districts can also use the reports generated by CATEMA to help them when coding in PEIMS.
Teacher training on CATEMA is available for school districts. Training can be given during a teacher In-service, in which it could be combined with additional Tech Prep information, or if you are with a larger district a training date can be scheduled where each teacher meets with the CATEMA trainer throughout the day during his/her conference period.
Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) Training - Waco, TX
